How To Install NOCO Lithium Powersport Batteries
Learn how to install your NOCO Lithium Powersport Battery.
HOW TO INSTALL.
NOCO Lithium Powersport has terminals that can be mounted from the front, side, or top, and can be removed altogether depending on the application. A removable mounting block allows the battery to fit more applications. The threaded insert enables direct-mounting for additional simplicity and security. The modular mounting spacer can be stacked and attached to the NLP batteries to alter the BCI size enabling the battery to be safely and securely mounted.

STEP 01
Remove original battery from vehicle following manufacturer’s guidelines.
STEP 02
Compare the height of original battery to NLP Lithium Powersport battery.
STEP 03
If the original battery dimensions is larger than NLP then use included spacers and foam to adjust the size to match the original battery as closely as possible.
STEP 04
Securely fasten the battery to the battery tray, making sure the power cables reach both terminals.
STEP 05
Using the included fastening hardware attach the Positive battery cable to the Positive battery terminal.
STEP 06
Then, attach the Negative battery cable to the Negative battery terminal.
STEP 07
If necessary, mount cables in an alternate position with NLP's alternate connection terminal options.
STEP 08
Be sure to fasten the bolts securely, but be careful not to over tighten.

What does the Battery Management System (BMS) on the Powersport batteries protect against?

The Battery Management System (BMS) monitors the internal lithium-ion cells and disconnects them if a fault occurs. The Dynamic BMS will protect against Over-Charge, Over-Discharge, Extreme Heat, Extreme Cold, Short Circuit, and Over Current.

Yes. You can use a NOCO Boost device on any NOCO Lithium batteries. Enabling Manual Override might be needed due to the BMS.

What is the optimal storage temperature of NOCO Powersport?

NOCO Powersport batteries should not be stored below -4ºF (-20ºC) and not exceed 140ºF (60ºC) for any reason.

Can I mount NOCO Powersport batteries in other directions?

You can install the battery in any direction except with the connectors facing downwards.

Can I use the NOCO Powersport batteries in series or parallel?

No. NOCO Powersport batteries are designed as starting batteries. Their BMS is not designed for series or parallel applications, and connecting them in series or parallel could damage the BMS and internal battery cells.

 
What is the recharge time for NOCO Powersport batteries?

To recharge NOCO Powersport batteries, connect a compatible lithium-ion charger to the positive ( ) and negative (-) battery terminals. The recommended charging voltage is 14.6-volts. The product uses advanced lithium-ion technology that allows for the rapid charging of the internal lithium-ion cells.
